Wayland Games is pleased to announce that Kraken Wargames has officially joined the Wyld Holdings group, reinforcing a shared commitment to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to tabletop gamers worldwide. Kraken Wargames joins Wayland Games alongside Warcradle Studios, Occam Distribution and OnTableTop under the expanding Wyld Holdings umbrella.

Founded and based in Essen, Germany, Kraken Wargames has established itself as a leader in premium tabletop accessories. The company is best known for its high-quality gaming mats, produced in-house using durable, neoprene-like materials that offer vibrant print quality, excellent grip and a smooth play surface. These mats are widely used across wargaming, card games and board games.

Kraken Wargames is also the creator of the Black Racks hobby organisation system, a modular storage and workspace solution designed to support miniature painters and hobbyists. Combining practicality with clean, modern aesthetics, Black Racks has become a staple on hobby desks across Europe.

Led by founder Tobias Dröschel, Kraken Wargames has built its reputation through innovation, attention to detail and a strong connection to the tabletop community. Tobias is recognised for pushing forward innovative manufacturing solutions and hobby-focused design that enhances the everyday gaming and painting experience.

Wayland Games is one of the UK’s leading tabletop games retailers and distributors, serving hobbyists worldwide through its online platform and retail operations. In early 2025, Wayland Games relocated its headquarters to the Brentwood area, supporting continued growth across logistics, customer service and group operations. As a central part of Wyld Holdings, Wayland Games focuses on community engagement and expanding global availability for its partner brands and retail stock.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kraken Wargames into Wyld Holdings,” said Richard Lawford at Wayland Games. “Their commitment to quality, innovation and community aligns perfectly with our mission. We are excited to work more closely together to develop new products and improve availability for hobbyists worldwide.”

Tobias of Kraken Wargames added, “We are very happy to be joining forces with Wayland Games after working together successfully for so many years. Becoming part of the Wyld Group allows us to be more present in the UK market and on the shelves of consumers, while continuing to do what we love, creating high-quality products for the tabletop community.”

Customers can expect to see the results of this collaboration later in 2025, with new initiatives, expanded availability and joint product developments already underway.
